FAQ

What does “force-free training” mean?

Force-free training is about creating a learning environment built on trust, structure, and clear communication. Just like people, dogs learn best when they feel safe. When they’re relaxed, their brain is better able to process information, retain what they’ve learned, and make thoughtful choices. But under stress or fear, the brain shifts into survival mode, and learning shuts down. That’s why punishment might stop a behaviour in the moment, but it doesn’t teach the dog what to do instead, and it can damage your relationship.Force-free doesn’t mean permissive. It means we teach with consistency, reinforcement, and science-backed strategies — not intimidation. Mistakes are part of the learning process, not something to punish. This approach helps dogs build emotional stability, confidence, and lasting behavioural change, along with a deeper, more trusting relationship between you and your dog.

What kind of dogs do you work with?

I work with all breeds, all ages, and all kinds of challenges. Whether you’re raising a puppy and want to build strong emotional foundations, or you’re supporting an anxious or reactive dog who needs help processing the world — I tailor the training to your dog’s needs and your home environment. From basic life skills to complex behavior work, we move step by step with patience, clarity, and trust.

How does the training process work?

Every training journey begins with a 90-minute Meet & Greet session. During this time, I assess your dog’s behaviour, observe interactions at home or on walks, and discuss your goals and concerns in detail. Based on this assessment, I’ll build a tailored training plan that suits both your dog’s needs and your lifestyle. You’ll also receive immediate, practical guidance to start applying right away. After this session, we decide together which package fits best, and begin working through the plan step by step, at a pace your dog can truly succeed with.

What is my role in the training process?

As your dog’s primary companion, your role is essential. You’re the one your dog lives with, learns from, and communicates with every day. My job is to guide you — to help you understand your dog’s needs, body language, and learning process. But real progress happens when you apply those tools consistently. Your dog shouldn’t be trained to respond to me — they should know how to read and respond to you. That’s why I’ll always focus on empowering you to build trust, clarity, and communication with your dog, long after our sessions end.
